Mapping my soul's wanderings.

Playlist.

There has been a lot of talk lately in my writing group about playlists for our particular writing projects. Mine is like holy ground to me--each song calls to mind a particular scene or emotion from my story. I'm very meticulous about the order in which the songs play.

It's had me thinking about how music can be such a catalyst for other forms of creativity, whether they be art, writing, design, or even making more music. Do you have a playlist for your project? If not, have you considered making one?

I've decided to share with you my playlist on Spotify. This is by no means complete--I will likely add more songs to this mix as I go. Right now, the first 19 songs are specific to Book One, the next 9 are for Book Two, and the final 9 are for Book Three. I do not have anything on here for Book Four just yet, probably because I'm working through this rough draft so quickly. I will take time to add more songs once I'm able to spend more time on it.

But I thought I would share, to give you an idea of some of the emotional themes in the books, if you're interested. The genres of the music range from electronica, to dub-step, to indie pop, to Christian pop. Not everything will be everyone's cup of tea, and that's fine. Because this list is what speaks to me for my book.

Take a listen if you want. Let me know what you think. Share your own playlist if you want to. I love how music can spark the creative, in so many ways.
